Why?

I have struggled all my life with being chubby and trying to get fit.  I have a weight loss journal that I started 3 years ago that I still write in when I'm starting a new workout plan or new diet and then starting over again a few months later. . .but I think I've finally found something that is going to stick!

2005- started running and loved it.

2006- Got married, put on some happy newly wed weight.

2007-Got pregnant put on some pregnancy weight in addition to the newly wed weight

2008- Lost my baby girl, depressed and unmotivated to do anything more weight gain

2009- Did the HCG diet lost 40lbs started training for the wasatch back ragnar relay. Ran 2 relays and kept running, kept off the weight but didn't lose anymore.

2010- kept running, got pregnant, started new job, bought a house, worked more nights gained 50 lbs the last 3 months of pregnancy and another 30 lbs after pregnancy

2011- pretended to train for the wasatch back relay dropped out last minute, attempted a few HCG rounds and gained all the weight back.  Got a nikeplus for christmas to track my running and a tennis racket to learn to play. Started counting calories sometimes!

2012- starting running hard core again. Ran the Wasatch Back relay and the Color Run 5K wasn't completely satisfied with my performances signed up for the Colorado Ragnar Relay. . .will complete in September.  Started Crossfit!! Counting calories more regularly on my phone with MyfitnessPal app.

Something just clicked in March when I started really training.  I decided I just had to do it whether I wanted to or not. . .I started running in the mornings whether I worked the night before or not it was the only time of the day that was mine, it was relaxing it was cool and it was all mine, there was nothing else I needed to be doing and I wasn't neglecting my child or husband it was my time!

I lost about 10 lbs with running and counting calories in the first 2 months of running.  I then lost another 10 lbs doing the same thing but I bumped things up a bit changing my running routine and cutting back my calories even more, drinking more water and not eating after 7:00 pm.

In June a friend started working out full time as therapy, it was an answer to my prayers!  She pushes me, motivates me, encourages me, and invites me to do everything she does.  She is an incredible athlete and I am so blessed to be working out by her side.  We run about 3 miles in the mornings whenever we can and then she kicks my butt with push ups and squat intervals.  She is a yoga instructor ( I haven't had the chance to take advantage of her yoga skills yet) she is a spin instructor (hoping to be doing some spinning next week with her) former college water polo player and swim coach.  She has been coaching my swimming a few times a week as well as helping me get a nice tan! She then started Crossfit and took me to an introductory class, it was amazing and I loved it, I loved the people, I loved the workout, I loved the way I felt when I was doing it and couldn't wait to start.
